Chernigivske Bagryane

«We hear wind whistling — and easy wind blows away white letters. They are winded and turned to snowflakes. Bunch of purple snowflakes fly in the white snowfall…».

We were delighted to turn these lines to life proposed by advertising agency «Lowe & Partners» for trade mark «Chernigivske Bagryane». The goal was interesting but limited by tight production deadline — total 7 days.

30 seconds of computer graphics consisted of 18 different shots. Because of precise and accurate work, experience and mutual understanding between agency and the client, we were able to follow technological process of production easily. Because final version is seen at the end, we are grateful to «Lowe & Partners» for their professionalism, trust and patience.

The work started from detailed pre-visualization. It was necessary to feel the montage rhythm, understand what objects to be modeled and exact time-study of each shot. We also did photo session of houses in Kyiv during night and day time. We selected from more than 1000 picture elements of houses’ fronts only several which «participated» in the work. The hardest thing was creating red snowflakes (which were to look like snowflakes, but red at the same time). We prepared over 10 different ways of animating snowflakes from which we selected big red snowflakes flying in white flow of snow. We worked during all week. Evening Kyiv became covered with snow. Finally the desired picture appeared and after color correction and insignificant changes key shots were approved. Further we gathered all planes together in one style and recorded received outcome on beta cam. Afterwards we tasted «Chernigivske Bagryane» and happily headed to celebrate New Year.
